Description
Make a little refuge for solitary bees and discover their essential role in nature.
Did you know that solitary bees exist? 🐝
Solitary bees, as their name suggests, are insects that don't live in large colonies, unlike social bees. Very early in the season, well before social bees, they pollinate the first fruit trees. And they need a place to lay their eggs and rest.
Solitary bees look for small cavities in which to nest and lay their eggs, such as galleries dug in the ground, hollow stems of "pithy" plants, holes in dead wood...
And to help them do just that, we suggest you build a bee hotel! With a tin can, straws, wood and paper!
