Conference Traveller nitrogen : car, agriculture and alpine plants with the Jardin du Lautaret

Description

For this 3rd Monday of conference, we invite you to meet Didier Voisin, professor and researcher, and to question with him about the impact of our cars in cities and our fertilizers in the plains on the modification of the alpine vegetation.

The Monday conferences are a time of meeting between curious, researchers, enthusiasts and all those who wish to deepen their knowledge.

This time, the theme is travelling nitrogen. Ecosystems need nutrients, especially nitrogen, to function properly. In alpine pastures, the nitrogen supply is low, and they have to cope with the weather conditions (snowfall, temperatures...).

This conference invites you to become aware of our impact on the nature that surrounds us, on its needs.

"What does this travelling nitrogen tell us about the transformation of mountain ecosystems?

Didier Voisin is a professor at Grenoble Alpes University and a researcher at the Institute of Geosciences for the Environment (IGE). He has been working for about ten years on chemical exchanges between surface and atmosphere. In particular, he has been working on the role of atmospheric nitrogen and desert dust deposits on the hydrological and ecological functioning of mountain meadows.
