Straw and Hay Sculpture
12th International Straw and Hay Sculpture Contest : from 27th of june to 2 July 2023 !
Valloire organises a unique artistic event in France, which is both fun and linked to the mountains. Come and discover works of art made by sculptors from all over the world ! You can admire those sculptures all summer long in Les Verneys, Valloire.
Entrants have a free choice of theme, but they must create a sculpture, which is a construction filled and covered with straw and hay.
12 giant sculptures will be built by teams of 2 sculptors on the Les Verneys plateau, in Valloire. They will be on display throughout the summer.
Contest begins: Tuesday 28th June at 9:00am
Contest ends: Sunday 3rd July at noon
Thursday, june 29th: sculptures and music. From 9:00 p.m. concert on the site of the sculptures.
Sunday, July 2th:
For security reasons, the site is forbidden for the public on sunday july 2th morning.
Noon: end of the contest
01:00pm – 4:00pm Vote for public and youth prize at the Tourist Information Office at the Sculpture site
5:30 pm: Prize giving

As a reminder, each team must be composed of two people, including at least one confirmed artist.
Application deadline is APRIL 21, 2024.
